Director of Policy and Education, Office of the Chief Scientific Officer, Geisinger Health System
Andy Faucett is a board certified and licensed genetic counselor. His work currently focuses on research, education, ethics and community engagement to improve the use of genetic testing. He is the Director of Policy and Education for the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer at Geisinger Health System in Danville, PA and has research appointments in the Genomic Medicine Institute and the Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute.
He leads the education and engagement activities, development of the online registry and the evaluation of genetic variants for educational needs and social issues in the ClinGen project (formerly ISCA and ICCG). He leads the community engagement aspects of Geisinger’s biobank, MyCode, including the planned sequencing of 100,000 biobank participants. He also participated in Geisinger’s eMERGE activities with a focus on education and ethical issues.
Prior to joining Geisinger he was a faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine and a Scientific Advisor for the CDC in Atlanta. He serves as Chair of the American Society of Human Genetics Information and Education Committee.
